Customer Need

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) is a statutory body which, as of 1 January 2017, brings together the expertise of GMW and Manchester Mental Health and Social Care Trust. The Trust provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bolton, the city of Manchester, Salford and Trafford and a wide range of specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the north west of England and beyond.

The Challenge

Greater Manchester Mental Health has been faced, as all Public Sector bodies with, a hard set of austerity measures over the past 5 years and this has resulted in a challenging environment to ensure IT service quality is maintained with reducing resources. To tackle this challenge Greater Manchester needed to be able to consolidate their IT environment to an integrated set of enterprise technologies to deliver against the current and future needs of the business.


PowerON was engaged to support the Trust in defining an approach and assist with validating the right route to take for the sustainable IT Service. To achieve this PowerON engaged to deliver a number of Proof of Concepts, alongside implementation assistance and ongoing support across EM&S, Service Management and Operations.


PowerON were able to:

  • Support to plan the use of Technologies
  • Enable validation of Technologies for use by the Trust
  • Consolidate their vendor stack to obtain commercial efficiencies

Norfolk and Norwich Hospital

For the first time, staff across the Trust will be able to record patient observations electronically, which are then fed into a central system so that they are always updated and available for the care professionals looking after the patient.
The system will bring huge benefits to patients, both in terms of the availability and accuracy of their information and enhancing efficiencies for staff to meet their care needs.

HH Global

After working with HH Global to understand their business needs and challenges, we implemented our device management platform, PowerON Pulse DMS, to help them with deployment, patching and endpoint management.

London Borough of Redbridge Council

As a direct result of Covid-19, the Council urgently needed to strengthen their existing remote access infrastructure, improve reliability, make it more robust and ultimately improve user experience with faster secure access to resources. Given the business-critical nature of this engagement, PowerON provided introductory calls, scoped the business and technical requirements, established commercial and partnership agreements and had a consultant onsite within 8 days of our first call with their team.


TripAdvisor realised they needed to implement a Windows 10 upgrade to make sure all applications, including business critical core applications, were supported.
