Traditional device management tools can struggle to manage remote worker devices outside the network. Improvements in cloud management solutions such as Windows Intune provide increased application management but can have limitations. Pulse DMS provides enterprise-class software deployment to end users over the web, with a self-service option for users to request software.
With just an internet connection, remote workers can easily request software via self-service from the software center application in windows.
Deploying software to remote workers increases business & IT productivity and service support levels. Pulse DMS enables the web-based deployment of the following types of applications:
- Windows Installer (MSI)
- Script Installer (EXE/Scripts)
- App-V 5 packages (Run locally deployments only)
- Web Applications (URL Links)
Pulse DMS allows requirements to be defined (e.g. Minimum OS, Minimum Disk Space etc), dependencies (e.g. must have application x installed) and supersedance (e.g. this application replaces application y or version # of application z) to increase the deployment success.
Applications are deployed from the cloud and utilise Peer-to-Peer technologies to minimise bandwidth usage.
Software can be deployed using the website portal or advanced operators can have access to an administration console (SCCM console).
Enterprise-class management tools allow intelligent management and configuration capabilities. Pulse DMS allows these capabilities to be delivered via the web including Task Sequences which can be used for two main scenarios:
- Deploying a sequence of applications or where applications require a specific order or scripts to be run to aid configuration.
- Deploying or configurating an Operating System.
