Pulse DMS is designed to introduce the new journey to modern management. Pulse DMS can be utilised to upgrade legacy devices to Windows 10 while also enabling the modern management scenario of allowing a device to be taken from the Out-of-Box experience and deploy organisational configuration to the device, bringing it in-line with the organisations standards. These capabilities can be delivered from the web ensuring ongoing compliance and increased end user support. Such enterprise-class capabilities have traditionally been beyond smaller organisations due to cost, complexity and ongoing resource management needs. Pulse DMS now allows these organisations to benefit from the online service rapidly increasing the remote device management capabilities available to them.
Organisational Policy & Compliance
Enterprise security policy management and reporting has traditionally be provided by on-premise management solutions enabling granular control of the operating system and ongoing policy management. Pulse DMS allows such capabilities to be delivered from the cloud improving how remote worker devices are managed and increasing organisational compliance and readiness to support standards such as the UK National Cyber Security Centre Guidance.
Operating System Deployment (OSD) has traditionally been an enterprise-class capability allowing consistency of the OS across the organisation for both security and management functions. Pulse DMS allows this capability to be delivered from the cloud, and allows organisations of all sizes to benefit from this enterprise functionality. With Pulse DMS, OSD is possible across the following main scenarios:
- In-place upgrade – uplift a Windows 7/8.1/10 machine to the required version of Windows 10
- USB Media – Download an offline image of the OS and your applications to be deployed using USB media Wipe and Reload – with the advanced OSD option of Pulse, connect directly to the cloud hosted service and pull down an OS to a device, regardless of any OS already present on the device.
Windows as a Service
With Windows as a Service, now a feature in Windows 10, customers can get Windows updates like software updates. There are different ways to service normal users, business users, and critical users. Pulse DMS provides this capability natively with inbuilt processes providing you with control on how the bi-annual Windows 10 updates are staged and applied across your device estate.
